What’s the difference between your pricing packages?

We charge based on the amount of storage you use.  We don’t limit your bandwidth usage, because we want you to be able to upload and download your data.

It’s easy to change your subscription level. If you decide to cancel your service, we will refund any unused portion of a subscription. Click here to see our pricing chart.

What happens to my data if PutPlace goes under?

PutPlace solves a real problem for home technology users and we plan to be in business for a very long time.

However, if something happens-like we win the lottery, or our whole team decides to race camels in Morocco-then we have opened a bond that ensures that if we cease trading, all our storage costs are covered for an entire year.

You will be notified at the email address you have given us and you will be given one year to download your content and store it somewhere else. This ensures that your content is safe while you decide what other service to use.

How does PutPlace work?

Once you have logged in and downloaded the PutPlace client, you will need to tell PutPlace what content you want it to manage. Create what we call ‘a PutPlace’ for any folder or file that you want to upload and keep track of.

PutPlace will keep tabs on those folders and files. It will automatically check to see if you’ve made changes and, if so, will upload any new or modified content.

Is PutPlace just for photos or can I backup other data too?

PutPlace loves all content! We know some of your documents are just as important to you as your photos. Plus, we’ve felt the pain of having to upload our music collection and photos to different places, making re-installing a right pain! So, upload any digital content that you care about, and we’ll treat it with care, no matter what it is.

How do I know how much data I am uploading? How can find out how much memory a folder is using?

Right click the folder in question, then click "Properties" (usually the last option in the list). This will show you how much memory the folder is using.

Is there a limit to the number of files or folders I can back up?

Nope. The only limit relates to the total amount of memory your stored data uses. The subscription level you choose determines the volume of memory you can use-not the number of files or folders.

Are there restrictions on bandwidth?

Here’s the bottom line: for normal users there are no bandwidth limits. We want you to be able to upload and access your data without restrictions!

So, you can upload and download to your heart's content, as long as the total size of stored data does not exceed your subscription level.
